Adolescent & Teen Health Care

Trips to the doctor change when a child becomes an adolescent; for the first time, your son or daughter sees the doctor alone. Mom and Dad wait on the other side of a closed door. That ability to speak openly and privately with the doctor can mean everything to your son or daughter’s physical and emotional health.

Adolescent medicine is a special care area of pediatrics. Adolescence, which means “to grow up,” is the period between the start of puberty and the time a young person becomes an adult legally. Eisner Pediatric & Family Medical Center is one of the few clinics in the area with an Adolescent Medicine Clinic. We treat young people ages 12-18.

We also offer family planning services for adolescents in four of our local high schools. All medical treatment for adolescents requires parental approval, except family planning. The Adolescent Medicine Clinic at EPFMC is open Wednesdays.
