Dental Health Services
The scope of dental health services that Eisner Pediatric & Family Medical Center offers for our patients is unusual for a community clinic.
- Preventive education
- Diagnostics and treatment
- Orthodontics for cleft lip and palate patients
- Oral surgery for wisdom tooth extractions
- Periodontal and other dental care for diabetics
- Referrals for extractions and other services
Most of our dental patients are children, but we also treat adults. If you’re under 21, we will treat you whether or not you have dental plan coverage. We do accept walk-ins but only for emergencies. If you do not have an emergency, please call (213) 747-5542, ext. 3316 for an appointment.
EPFMC dentists and hygienists work with the WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) organization to present an oral hygiene program for children 5 years and younger. The purpose is to teach parents how to care for their young children’s teeth. Parents are often surprised to find that even very young children can develop cavities and require crowns if their teeth are not cared for properly. The EPFMC staff participates in the trainings, screens the children for dental problems, and performs fluoride treatments.
Diagnostics and Treatment
This service includes:
- Exams and x-rays
- Teeth cleaning
- Fluoride treatment every 6 months
- Sealants to prevent tooth decay
- Fillings (white and silver)
- Stainless steel crowns for baby teeth
Referrals for Extractions
Extractions for children usually are referred to a private pediatric dentist. We refer adults to county dental services for extractions.
We also provide an in-house pharmacy to fill prescriptions for EPFMC patients. We speak English, Spanish, Korean, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
To schedule an appointment, call the Dental Clinic directly at (213) 747-5542, ext. 3316. We accept Medi-Cal, Denti-Cal, uninsured patients, HMO (Safeguard and Access Dental), and PPO insurance. We have healthcare enrollers on site who can help you apply for insurance.
