Other Prenatal Services
Other prenatal services to keep you and your developing baby healthy include:
- Nutrition counseling from a dietician
- Counseling for emotional support
- Case manager to assist you with finding shelter, clothing, help with bills, etc.
- Dental care
All prenatal patients may use EPFMC’s Dental Care services. You will need to make an appointment. If you do not have private insurance, these services are covered by Medi-Cal.
If you are diabetic, you may be referred to our Periodontal Program for Diabetics for screening and closer monitoring. Periodontal disease can cause a spike in your blood sugar levels. The periodontist will look for signs that you have periodontal disease. If you do, she and the High-Risk Pregnancy team will monitor your health for any signs that you need further periodontal care. This is a covered service for our diabetic patients.
