Class discussions include fetal development, the types of physical discomforts you should expect and how to cope with them, and how to recognize discomfort that is not ordinary and possibly a sign of trouble. Find out what to do to keep you and your baby healthy.
Nutrition during Pregnancy
Yes, you really are eating for two. This class teaches you how to make the kinds of food choices that will help your baby grow while controlling your own weight. Discover:
- How to choose the right foods
- How much weight gain is healthy
- The meaning of new food cravings during your pregnancy
If you have diabetes, you’ll need to take extra precautions to protect your health and your baby’s throughout your pregnancy. This class teaches you how to eat to manage your diabetes, check your glucose levels, and administer your insulin. It’s one of the classes you’ll take as you learn how to manage your own care in the High-Risk Pregnancy Clinic.
Get up and move. It’s healthy for you and your baby. Start exercising early in your pregnancy and continue throughout it. Twice a month, join us for a class of safe exercises. Workouts last 40 minutes, with 15 minutes of cool-down, relaxation time. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
