How to Take Care of Baby’s First Tooth

Even before you see that first tooth, get in the habit of wiping your baby’s gums every day. You can use a clean soft cloth. Once your baby’s first tooth pokes through, begin brushing it with a soft-bristle toothbrush and water. Around the time that your baby turns 2, start applying toothpaste. Add just a dab to the toothbrush, about the size of a pea. And remember, it’s very important that you not let your baby sleep with a bottle. This can cause early tooth decay.
